AUTOMOBILES/LIXSR   June 25, 2024

Bugatti has unveiled the Tourbillon, a groundbreaking hypercar that signifies a new era of innovation and luxury. Named after the intricate watch mechanism, the Tourbillon features an all-new 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine combined with a cutting-edge electric powertrain, producing a total of 1,800 horsepower.

This powertrain, developed with Cosworth, includes three electric motors (two at the front and one at the rear), providing unparalleled agility and traction. The car’s design boasts the signature Bugatti horseshoe grille, aerodynamic enhancements, and advanced materials like T800 carbon composite and 3D-printed components, making it lighter and more rigid than its predecessors.

Availability and Significance

The Bugatti Tourbillon is set to start deliveries in 2026, with a production limit of 250 units. Each unit is priced at approximately €3,800,000 EUR (over $4,000,000 USD). This release marks the first Bugatti developed under the leadership of Mate Rimac, blending traditional internal combustion with modern hybrid technology.

The Tourbillon’s interior is inspired by high-end horology, featuring a Swiss-made analog instrument cluster and a center console made of crystal glass and anodized aluminum. This hypercar not only showcases Bugatti’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering but also reinforces its legacy of luxury and performance.
