AUTOMOBILES/LIXSR   June 5, 2024

BMW has officially introduced the fourth generation of its 1 Series, combining sporty aesthetics with advanced technology and sustainability. Set to launch in October 2024, the new model features a dynamic front end with hallmark BMW proportions, a lower and flatter stance, and striking LED headlights.

Inside, the 1 Series offers a leather-free interior, high-quality surfaces, and the latest BMW iDrive system with a fully digital cockpit, reducing the need for physical buttons. The interior design also emphasizes sustainability, with options for recycled and vegan materials.

Performance and Availability

The top model, the BMW M135 xDrive, boasts a 300-hp four-cylinder engine, Adaptive M Chassis, and intelligent all-wheel drive, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The range also includes other variants with efficient three-cylinder petrol and four-cylinder diesel engines, all featuring 48-volt mild hybrid technology.

The new 1 Series will be available starting October 2024, with production taking place at BMW’s Leipzig plant. Key markets include Germany, Japan, and other European countries, where the model will be offered with a range of automated driving and parking systems for enhanced safety and convenience.
