The New Tudor Black Bay Chrono in Pink
WATCHES/LIXSR April 1, 2023
Tudor has unveiled the Black Bay Chrono “Pink,” a striking new addition to its collection, following a partnership with David Beckham’s soccer club, Inter Miami. This collaboration has led to the creation of a watch that not only celebrates the sport but also pays homage to the distinctive pink color scheme associated with the team. The watch features a 41mm steel case, two subdial displays, a date window at six o’clock, screw-down pushers, snowflake hands, and is powered by the COSC-certified Calibre MT5813. Unique to this model is the pink dial, which Tudor has playfully dubbed a “pink panda” due to its contrasting black sub-registers.
This model is not just a nod to soccer; it also reflects the personal style of Taiwanese musician Jay Chou, another Tudor ambassador known for his affinity for pink. The Black Bay Chrono “Pink” incorporates a five-link bracelet, inspired by the Rolex Jubilee, featuring Tudor’s T-fit clasp extension system, adding a modern touch to the watch’s overall design.
Priced at $5,675, the Black Bay Chrono “Pink” is set to be a limited production piece, not entering Tudor’s regular catalog. This decision underscores the watch’s unique appeal and the brand’s anticipation of its becoming a sought-after item among collectors and enthusiasts.
The introduction of the Black Bay Chrono “Pink” represents a bold move for Tudor, known for its more conservative and vintage-inspired designs. This vibrant pink dial version injects a new life into the collection, demonstrating Tudor’s willingness to experiment and embrace more playful and modern aesthetics.
As we approach Watches & Wonders 2024, the release of the Black Bay Chrono “Pink” has certainly raised excitement and curiosity about what other surprises Tudor may have in store.
