WATCHES/LIXSR March 27, 2023
Breitling is celebrating its 140th anniversary with the introduction of new models to its iconic Navitimer collection, including the Navitimer GMT and Automatic 41, alongside a special self-winding Cosmonaute limited edition. These models are presented in the Navitimer’s signature style but with updated dimensions and design elements, catering to both aviation professionals and lifestyle enthusiasts.
The Navitimer GMT and Automatic 41 come in various finishes, including stainless steel, 18k red gold, and two-tone options, with dial colors ranging from blue, black, silver, ice blue, to green. These watches are powered by the Breitling Caliber 17, a COSC-certified movement ensuring reliability and precision.
Highlighting the collection is the Navitimer B12 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Limited Edition, paying tribute to the original Cosmonaute of the ’60s designed for space exploration. This model features a 24-hour dial, a deep green base with black subdials, and golden numerals, all encased in 18k red gold. Limited to 250 pieces, this edition showcases the B12 Manufacture movement through an open caseback.
Breitling’s CEO, Georges Kern, emphasizes the significance of the Navitimer and Cosmonaute models in the brand’s history and their impact on aviation and watchmaking. The new models are designed for everyday wear, offering a modern take on the Navitimer’s sporty-chic aviation aesthetic.
The collection will be available through Breitling’s boutiques and online, celebrating the brand’s “140 Years of Firsts.” This launch underscores Breitling’s commitment to innovation, blending the Navitimer’s rich heritage with contemporary design and functionality.
